Creating narratives and interfaces for a second screen experience. A new way to enjoy tv content.

As a pitch for a new product for USA Networks, we conceptualized and designed “Usa Insider”, a second screen experience that would create a parallel world to the show being broadcasted on TV. It would have parallel storylines, complimentary content and activities. A new way to enjoy content of USA Network shows, making use of new technologies.

Project Brief

The brief for this project was to create an aggregated experience, that would add value to USA Networks shows playing on TV between episodes. Using mobile technologies, this app would engage viewers in alternate and complimenting stories, activities and discovery journeys in order to complete the puzzle of the on-tv experience.

PROPOSED SOLUTION

The solution to this brief was “Usa Insider”, a second screen experience that offered users a broad range of offline content. They could see complimentary mini-epoxides to fill in blanks of the last episode, activities to know more about characters and plots as well as accessing their favorite content anywhere.

FINAL OUTCOME:

The mass adoption of technologies like tablets, smart phones, etc, opened a new door for storytelling and experiencing content in a non-linear fashion. Usa Insinder takes advantage of this to create the future of TV.
