Helping shape the way customers interact with Xfinity and all it’s products and offerings. A digital hub for all connections and digital services.

Xfinity. The cable division of Comcast, offers a broad range of products for it’s customers. From best in class tv, to the best High Speed Data services. Since 2015, I’ve been helping shape the way customers interacct with xfinity, mainly through their flagship xFi app.

About the product

The xFi app redefines what it means to have High Speed Internet. For today’s tech savvy users, it’s not enough to just have the service anymore. They need to interact with it, have control of when to pause their connection, knowledge of how their families are using the service, and have an easy and simple way to onboard new devices. All in a centralized place that is the hub of their digital home life.

PROJECT GOALS

The final objective of this project, besides reaching business goals, was to maintain users engaged with Xfinity,beyond specific technical needs. Hopefully they will see the Xfinity app as an essential part of their connected lives, since they connect, control and manage features and services through it.

PROCESS & OUTCOME

An opportunity to create an app from zero and reshape the relationship between a huge service provider and it’s users. The future of connected life.

The process was a fascinating journey -starting from discovery and open experimentation for what the app could be- and then morphing into a full company and leadership engagement due to the potential it developed. The growth in scope required a whole redesign of the strategy, involving stakeholders from other products, understanding the needs of other business areas, and creating a product that is not only flexible for the future, but also for different devices, offerings, themes and syndications.
